Adidas Closes the Yeezy Chapter, Offloads Remaining Stock

Adidas has officially sold its last pair of Yeezy sneakers, marking the end of an era for the brand.

The move comes after the company cut ties with rapper Ye (formerly Kanye West) in October 2022, following his controversial antisemitic remarks.

Despite the financial weight of this decision, Adidas has finally liquidated all remaining Yeezy stock, signaling a new direction for the company.

Financial Impact of the Yeezy Exit

The Yeezy line was a major revenue driver for Adidas, and its absence has been felt in the company’s financials.

In 2024, Adidas reported €650 million in revenue from Yeezy sales, bringing in approximately €200 million in profit.

However, this was a decline from the €750 million in revenue and €300 million in profit it generated in 2023.

The brand also experienced a 2% sales drop in North America, largely due to the Yeezy fallout.

To mitigate the impact, Adidas has been restructuring, with planned job cuts of up to 500 positions in Germany.

This move aims to give its regional markets more control and help steer the company toward growth without relying on the Yeezy brand.

Charitable Donations from Yeezy Profits

While Adidas may be closing the Yeezy chapter, the company is ensuring that part of the revenue from these sales is put toward a good cause.

Adidas has allocated €260 million from Yeezy profits for charitable donations, with €200 million set aside in an Adidas foundation and €60 million already distributed to organizations fighting antisemitism and discrimination.

What’s Next for Adidas?

With the Yeezy stock now fully liquidated, Adidas is shifting focus to new product strategies and restructuring efforts to reclaim its position in the market.

The company is exploring new trends, developing fresh designs, and adjusting its business model to stay competitive.

The end of the Yeezy partnership marks a significant shift for Adidas, one that challenges the brand to rebuild and evolve without one of its most profitable collaborations.

Whether it can make up for the lost revenue remains to be seen, but one thing is clear—Adidas is officially moving forward without Yeezy.
