LA’s $2.3B Homeless ‘Plan’—A Masterclass in Turning Cash into Cardboard

An audit revealed this week that Los Angeles has “lost” $2.3 billion in homeless funding.

Yes, folks, the same city that gave us $18 avocado toast and a ban on backyard BBQs because smoke is traumatic has misplaced enough cash to build a Death Star.

A Peter Griffin-Level Confessional

The LA Controller’s Office report reads like a Peter Griffin confessional:

“We spent $2.3 billion and we have no idea where it went. But trust us, we’re this close to solving homelessness!”

They’re not.

Since 2016, LA’s homeless population has surged 62%, a stat that pairs nicely with their “investment” in sidewalk tents that double as Airbnbs for rats.

Where Did The Money Go? Let’s Check the ‘Priorities’

The spending spree includes:

  • $683 million on “administrative costs”—translation: woke-adjacent consultants who’ve never met a fidget spinner they couldn’t allocate funds for.
  • $1.2 billion on “services” that sound like rejected GoFundMe campaigns.
  • Needles? Free.
  • Kale salads at outreach events? Covered.
  • Actual housing? LOL, here’s a voucher for a bus ticket to Phoenix.

Compare that to Houston, which reduced homelessness by 63% using boring, right-wing things like data and accountability.

But LA? They’re too busy debating whether to call tents non-permanent domiciles or tiny minimalist studios.

Imagine if Netflix burned $2.3 billion on a Barbie sequel—that’s LA’s homeless policy.
