Former Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo, along with two co-accused, has been placed under the custody of the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City after a court ordered their transfer following their conviction for qualified human trafficking.

CIW records show that Guo, together with Jaimielyn Santos Cruz and Rachelle Joan Malonzo Carreon, was brought to the facility’s Reception and Diagnostic Center (RDC). The group was transported by personnel of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, headed by Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory warden JCInsp. Jean Olive Unciano. The report on their arrival was submitted by CIW Chief Supt. Marjorie Ann Sanidad to Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Officer in Charge Al Perreras.

Their commitment to CIW was executed under a Mittimus Order issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 167 Judge Annielyn Mendes-Cabels. The inmates were catalogued as follows: Guo Hua Ping (Prison No. C225P-531), Cruz (Prison No. C225P-530), and Carreon (Prison No. C225P-529). All three received life imprisonment and a fine of P2 million.

Upon entry, the inmates were placed in a five-day quarantine period as part of CIW’s standard intake procedures. Sanidad noted that the quarantine includes comprehensive medical evaluations before they move on to the next phase.

Once the initial quarantine concludes, they will undergo a 55-day orientation and assessment program inside the RDC’s regular dormitory. This includes psychological, physical, and behavioral evaluations designed to assist in their proper classification.

BuCor Director General Gregorio Pio P. Catapang Jr. explained that the assessment period is critical in determining the specific needs of each inmate and in formulating individualized treatment plans. He added that the RDC also handles orientation sessions and educational briefings to familiarize newly admitted inmates with facility regulations and their rights.

After completing the 60-day intake process, Guo, Cruz, and Carreon will be transferred to their designated dormitories within the Maximum Security Camp of CIW.
