The first official trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2 has been released, confirming the return of the original cast and offering a glimpse into how the world of Runway magazine has evolved nearly two decades after the first film.
Released by 20th Century Studios on Monday, February 2, the under two-minute preview reunites Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci in their iconic roles tied to the influential fashion publication.
Hathaway’s Andy Sachs is no longer a junior assistant navigating the industry from the margins. She is now portrayed as a seasoned fashion editor with authority of her own, though her complicated relationship with Miranda Priestly, played by Streep, remains central to the story. Tucci reprises his role as Nigel Kipling, still positioned as Miranda’s trusted confidant, while Blunt’s Emily Charlton has risen into a senior executive role, signaling a significant shift in the power structure at Runway.
The trailer highlights international fashion events, including scenes set in Paris, and suggests that Runway’s influence now extends well beyond print, reinforcing its status as a global industry force. Dialogue in the preview points to lingering tensions, personal evolution, and unresolved rivalries among the core characters.
Alongside the trailer, the studio released black-and-white character posters featuring the four returning leads, further building anticipation for the sequel.
The film is scheduled for release in Philippine cinemas on April 29. Additional cast members include Simone Ashley and Conrad Ricamora. The sequel follows the 2006 original, which became a cultural mainstay for its portrayal of the fashion industry and its performances, particularly Streep’s turn as Miranda Priestly.
