Vlogger Jack Argota , more popularly known on social media as “Sir Jack,” admitted that the medical record of President Bongbong Marcos he shared was fake and said he posted it to ride a viral trend.

He told authorities on Wednesday at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) that he enhanced the circulating copy of the document before uploading it to his account.

Argota said he shared the file to drive online engagement. “Para malito lang sila,” he told reporters, adding that his goal was to “makasabay sa uso” or to keep up with the trend. He maintained, however, that the confusion stemmed from how widely it had spread. “Ang daming nag-post e, akala ko legit. Nakisabay na ako,” he said.

He stressed he had no regrets, saying that his followers likely understood that he posts content for humor purposes, but he acknowledged that he made a mistake and apologized to NBI officials.

The NBI opened an investigation after the document, which purported to contain the president’s medical details, spread widely and attracted public attention, and it summoned him. Meta took down the post before he received the NBI’s subpoena.

Argota acknowledged that the document did not come from any hospital or authorized medical source and said he is prepared to face any cases filed against him.

The NBI had earlier filed a cyber libel complaint against another vlogger, Ka Eric Celiz, and former broadcaster Jay Sonza over the same fake medical records. The investigation remains ongoing as the NBI continues to evaluate possible legal liabilities tied to the altered medical record and its online dissemination.
