Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo has ordered emergency fuel conservation measures across the local government as global energy tensions push oil prices higher and threaten supply stability.
Robredo issued Executive Order No. 12, Series of 2026, directing all departments of the Naga City Government to reduce fuel consumption and prioritize essential operations. The order forms part of the city’s response to disruptions in global oil supply linked to the Middle East crisis.
Under the directive, city offices must prioritize the use of vehicles only for critical government functions. Agencies were also instructed to shift more transactions to digital platforms and encourage the use of active transport such as walking and cycling to reduce fuel demand.
The order states that the policy aims to ensure “the continuous delivery of vital services despite Middle East supply disruptions.”
Robredo framed the move as a precaution to protect local government operations and public services while the global energy situation remains volatile. The order also aligns Naga’s response with the latest advisory issued by the Inter Agency Energy Efficiency and Conservation Committee.
City officials were instructed to implement conservation measures immediately to safeguard government resources and maintain fiscal discipline during the ongoing energy disruption.
The full directive appears in Executive Order No. 12, Series of 2026, issued by the Office of the City Mayor of Naga.
