Chuck Norris, a martial artist and Hollywood action star, has died at the age of 86, his family confirmed. In a statement, they described him as a devoted family man who lived with faith, discipline, and purpose, and whose work inspired millions around the world.
Norris gained recognition through martial arts and film, including his role opposite Bruce Lee in The Way of the Dragon and his lead role in the television series Walker, Texas Ranger. A former karate champion and U.S. Air Force veteran, he built a long-running career in action films and television and later became widely known through internet memes.
Tributes were shared by actors Sylvester Stallone and Dolph Lundgren, as well as U.S. President Donald J. Trump, who all acknowledged his influence and public persona. Outside of entertainment, Norris was involved in fitness advocacy, operated martial arts schools, and supported conservative political causes.
