Vivamax star Chelsea Ylore has stopped giving interviews after being barred from speaking further on the controversy she initiated when she claimed in a podcast that a “paldo” senator once tipped her PHP250,000 to PHP300,000 even before anything happened between them.
She did not identify the senator but said his name contains the letters “Y,” “R,” and “F,” which immediately fueled speculation online.
The discussion widened after columnist Ramon Tulfo posted a reaction on Facebook, pulling his brother Senator Raffy Tulfo into the issue. Instead of a direct denial, Mon issued statements that took an unusual direction and included remarks targeting same-sex relations.
Mon wrote that he doubted the rumor because his brother is a husband who fears upsetting his wife. He then added: “Eh, ano ngayon kung nambabae siya? Ang nakakahiya ay kung nanlalake ang kapatid ko gaya ng isang lalakeng mambabatas na mahilig sa basketbolista.” His post linked the speculation to infidelity and contrasted it with same-sex behavior he described negatively.
Mon also highlighted that Raffy is known for giving away large sums of money on his programs and said these come from his own funds. He said Raffy and his wife were already wealthy before entering politics and claimed their combined SALN totals PHP1 billion.
He followed this with another statement: “Kung ako pa ang napabalita na nag-offer ng indecent proposal, kapani-paniwala pa. Sa edad kong ito ay tumitigas pa rin at humahanap si manoy ng masasabong.”
Chelsea has not issued new statements since being barred from interviews, and the senator she referred to remains unnamed as the speculation continues.
