A recent Tangere survey shows that Senator Bong Go leads Senator Bam Aquino in voter support in the 2028 presidential election, should Vice President Sara Duterte be removed from office. The poll indicates Go at 38%, Aquino at 29%, while 32% of respondents remain undecided, highlighting a sizable portion of the electorate still weighing their choices.
The data suggests Go maintains a clear advantage over Aquino in a direct contest. Analysts note that if VP Sara were to show support for Go, it could strengthen his position, although such an endorsement is not assured.
Go and Duterte share a long political history: she backed his 2018 senatorial bid, and Go has repeatedly expressed loyalty to the Duterte family and has publicly supported her declared 2028 presidential ambitions.
The Tangere survey highlights how voter preferences could shift in Duterte’s absence, emphasizing Go’s lead over Aquino and the large pool of undecided voters. The findings underscore the fluid dynamics within the Duterte camp and the potential influence of strategic endorsements on the 2028 presidential race.
Tangere also clarified that no data has been presented for Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte in the event he enters the race as a replacement candidate for his sister, Vice President Sara Duterte.
In a separate Tangere poll examining a broader presidential field, Senator Bong Go and Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo were found to be statistically tied if Vice President Sara Duterte is removed from the race due to impeachment.
