Journalist Rigoberto D. Tiglao has released a new book titled “Debunked Uncovering hard truths about EDSA Martial Law Marcos Aquino with a special section on the Duterte Presidency.” The paperback, published on January 25, 2019, presents Tiglao’s selected essays and expands on themes he introduced in his earlier work.
According to the book’s description, Tiglao “delves deeper into why the Philippines has been stuck in a political and economic quagmire since the EDSA People Power Revolt of 1986 and how the narrative of the ‘Yellow’ oligarchy has been destroying democratic institutions and weakening nationalism.” The description states that Tiglao “debunks the myths and fallacies propagated by the ruling elites to keep their hold onto power.”
The book summary also says Tiglao “bravely exposes the hidden facts about EDSA the Aquino Cojuangco family the role of the Communist and Liberal parties in provoking the imposition of Martial Law and eviscerates the first fake news the alleged ‘Jabidah Massacre’.” It adds that “revelations abound in this book that is destined to be a classic must-read for the new generation.”
The summary further asserts that Tiglao “uncovered details about the illegal Disbursement Acceleration Program of the Aquino administration and how this fund was used to remove Chief Justice Renato Corona from the Supreme Court.” It also states that the book “will open the mind of every Filipino as to how they have been hoodwinked into believing the ‘Good versus Evil’ narrative of the Yellow oligarchy.”
The description concludes that readers “will come away with a better understanding of why we are where we are and why the radical presidency of Rodrigo Duterte is the country’s best chance at genuine national development.”
