‘King of Filipino Comedy’ Jo Koy Can’t Handle Manila Traffic

Let’s get one thing straight: Jo Koy is hilarious.

He’s the “King of Filipino Comedy” for a reason—until you put him in Manila traffic, and suddenly, he turns into that guy at karaoke night who complains about the mic feedback instead of just singing his heart out.

Jo Koy’s Manila Traffic Breakdown

The comedian recently shared that Manila traffic gave him some serious anxiety. Anxiety?

Bro, have you ever tried ordering food from a Jollibee trainee or asking directions from a security guard?

Now that’s anxiety. Manila traffic? It’s more of a national sport than a cause for panic attacks.

Here’s the deal: If you’re going to rake in millions cracking jokes about Filipinos, you better be able to stomach the mess that is Manila’s greatest export—chaos. Nothing screams chaos louder than EDSA on a Friday afternoon.

But no, Jo Koy wants us to believe he’s a delicate flower wilting under the pressure of bumper-to-bumper insanity. Newsflash: Welcome to the club. The only thing moving slower than those cars is your ability to grow a pair, my friend.

Manila Drivers Are Performers, Not Pilots

Manila drivers are basically stunt performers, except they don’t have safety nets or insurance plans. They weave through lanes like they’re auditioning for Fast & the Furious 15: Beyond the Ice Wall.

Meanwhile, Jo Koy is out here clutching his chest like he’s been pricked by the Pop the Balloon game at a kids’ party. Grow up, dude. This isn’t LA, where everyone pretends to care about carpool lanes but secretly drives Teslas alone.

Over here, survival trumps politeness every single time, and if you don’t like it, maybe stick to Zoom calls next time.

Perspective, Jo: Where’s Your Street Cred?

And then there’s his so-called “anxiety.” Buddy, half the population doesn’t even know what therapy is, let alone afford it.

If Manila traffic stresses you out, imagine living paycheck to paycheck while dodging jeepneys and tricycles that come at you like extras in a low-budget action flick.

Perspective matters, Jo. Maybe take a Xanax, or three, and call me in the morning.

Thanks for Stating the Obvious

But hey, credit where it’s due. At least Jo Koy brought attention to the issue.

Though honestly, did anyone NOT know Manila traffic was terrible? Even tourists arrive with preemptive migraines just thinking about it.

Thanks for the public service announcement, champ. Now go back to making jokes about adobo because clearly, for Manila roads, you don’t have a punchline.
