Senator Bong Go led the turnover of Super Health Centers in Mindanao on April 6, 2026, underscoring his support for the Department of Health’s expansion program aimed at bringing basic healthcare closer to underserved communities.
Facilities were inaugurated in Barangay Banayal, Tulunan, Cotabato, and in San Fernando, Bukidnon, with Go joined by local officials and representatives from the DOH, the agency implementing the program. He stressed that frontline health workers and strong coordination between national and local governments are essential for delivering primary care at the community level.
Super Health Centers are designed to address a common barrier for many Filipinos: distance and cost. In remote areas, reaching a hospital can take hours and often requires funds that families may not have. The centers provide essential services including medical consultations, basic laboratory testing, maternal and dental care, outpatient treatment, and access to medicines closer to home.
More than 700 Super Health Centers have been funded nationwide to expand early detection and routine care. The initiative is intended to prevent illnesses from becoming more serious and to ease congestion in major hospitals, ensuring that Filipinos can receive timely and accessible medical attention.
Go emphasized that his continued support for the DOH program reflects a commitment to strengthening the country’s primary healthcare network and ensuring that even geographically isolated communities benefit from reliable medical services.
“We are all brothers and sisters — whether Bisaya or Matigsalug. Let us value our fellow Filipinos,” Go said, highlighting the importance of bringing care closer to every Filipino and reinforcing the nation’s collective responsibility to support accessible healthcare.
