The President was joined by Agriculture Secretary Francisco “Kiko” Tiu Laurel Jr. and Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) Administrator Dexter R. Buted.
The delegation toured the CPAVI integrated processing plant in Barangay Tambler, which manufactures coconut-based products including coconut water, virgin coconut oil, desiccated coconut, coconut milk and cream, and coconut flour for international markets.
In a Facebook post, Marcos emphasized that coconut is more than just a crop—it is a gateway to multiple income streams. From coco water to oil, flour, and other byproducts, he stressed that value-added production can help rural communities prosper.
“Hindi lamang niyog kundi pati coco water, oil at flour ang maaari nilang pagkakitaan,” he said.
Marcos also highlighted the potential for job creation in the provinces.
“Mas marami ring trabaho ang malilikha sa mga probinsya at mas lalakas ang ating sektor ng agrikultura,” he added.
During the visit, PCA Administrator Buted stated: “We are steadfast in making sure that growth in this sector translates directly to opportunities, income, and dignity for our farmers.”
He also emphasized the PCA’s dual mandate: to ensure the sustainability and global competitiveness of the coconut sector, and to uplift the welfare of coconut farmers.
CPAVI (Century Pacific Agricultural Ventures Inc.), a subsidiary of Century Pacific Food Inc., is one of the Philippines’ leading producers of value-added coconut products, supplying both branded retail and private label markets globally.
The presidential visit is part of the administration’s broader initiative to engage with industry players, address operational challenges, and promote strategies for the continued development of the country’s coconut industry.
