Akbayan Party-list’s Chel Diokno is the only pink-aligned politician currently polling within the Top 12 of the 2028 senatorial race, according to the latest preference survey released by Tangere.
Tangere said the current rankings were generated after Senator Robin Padilla and Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, who led previous versions of the same poll, were removed from the candidate list after publicly stating they would not run for Senate in 2028.
In the updated standings, Diokno appears within the projected Top 12. Tangere noted that scenarios where either Padilla or Sotto is included in the race result in shifts in the rankings that remove candidates drawing from similar voter bases from the winning circle.
The poll is led by Senator Raffy Tulfo, ranked 1st with 49.8 percent voter preference, followed by former senator Grace Poe at 2nd with 43.5 percent. Incumbent senators Alan Peter Cayetano and Loren Legarda are grouped in the 3rd to 7th range at 38.0 percent. Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte and Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte are also clustered in the 3rd to 7th range with 37.1 percent and 36.6 percent.
Completing the projected Top 12 are DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian at 7th with 34.4 percent; former senator Manny Pacquiao ranked 8th to 12th with 31.2 percent; Senator Chiz Escudero ranked 8th to 13th with 30.2 percent; media executive Ben Tulfo at 8th to 13th with 30.1 percent; Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte ranked 8th to 14th with 29.3 percent; and DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara at 9th to 14th with 28.4 percent.
Tangere reported that the survey covered 2,000 respondents nationwide using a mobile-based respondent application, with a margin of error of plus or minus 2.15 percent at a 95 percent confidence level, and respondents proportionally drawn from the National Capital Region, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
