Paolo Duterte and Sebastian “Baste” Duterte have placed 5th and 6th in the latest 2028 senatorial preference survey released by Tangere, based on results from a nationwide poll conducted from February 2 to 6, 2026 among 2,000 respondents using a mobile-based survey platform.
Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte recorded a voter preference of 37.1 percent, placing him within the 3rd to 7th ranking cluster. Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte, also known as Baste Duterte, followed closely with 36.6 percent and is included in the same cluster. Based on the ranking spread presented in the survey results, the two are positioned at 5th and 6th.
Tangere said the change in rankings followed announcements by Senator Robin Padilla and Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto that they will not run in the 2028 senatorial elections. The updated results reflect voter preferences after their withdrawal from the race.
The survey is led by Senator Raffy Tulfo with 49.8 percent voter preference, followed by former senator Grace Poe at 43.5 percent. Also included within the projected Top 12 are Alan Peter Cayetano and Loren Legarda, both posting 38.0 percent, Rex Gatchalian at 34.4 percent, Manny Pacquiao at 31.2 percent, Chiz Escudero at 30.2 percent, Ben Tulfo at 30.1 percent, Joy Belmonte at 29.3 percent, and Sonny Angara at 28.4 percent.
Tangere reported that the survey has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.15 percent at a 95 percent confidence level, with respondents proportionally distributed across the National Capital Region, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao using stratified random sampling.
