Eman Bacosa, son of boxing legend Manny Pacquiao, extended his unbeaten record after defeating Nico Salado via unanimous decision in the “Thrilla in Manila 2” undercard held at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
The 21-year-old Bacosa earned the judges’ scores of 58-55, 58-55, and 60-53 to record his seventh professional victory. The six-round lightweight bout was part of the Blow by Blow Promotions card paying tribute to the 1975 Muhammad Ali–Joe Frazier classic fight staged at the same venue.
Salado, who entered the match with a record of 2-2-1 (1 knockout), managed to go the distance but fell short on points.
After the fight, Bacosa thanked his supporters and training team.
“I’m just focused on myself and my fight. People will always compare, but I’m here to grow and improve every time I step in the ring,” Bacosa said.
The win raised Bacosa’s professional record to 7-0.
