Former Philippine National Police chief Nicolas Torre III has been appointed as general manager of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, Malacañang confirmed on December 19.
President Bongbong Marcos approved Torre’s appointment, according to Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro. Torre replaces Procopio Lipana.
The appointment comes four months after Torre was relieved as chief of the Philippine National Police on August 25. He was replaced by Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.
