The Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) will hold a three-day rally at Rizal Park in Manila from November 16 to 18, reportedly to call for transparency and accountability in government. The event, described as a peaceful religious gathering, is expected to draw thousands of participants to the Quirino Grandstand and Burnham Green areas after receiving official approval from the National Parks Development Committee.
Cecille Lorenzana-Romero, executive director of the National Parks Development Committee, confirmed that the INC’s request to use Rizal Park was approved last Thursday. Coordination between the church, the city government of Manila, and other agencies is ongoing to ensure safety and smooth operations throughout the event.
Cesar Chavez, chief of staff of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, said the city government will provide “perimeter support” for the INC rally. “While we know that the INC is very organized whenever it holds a rally, the city government of Manila would be deploying teams to monitor and to provide assistance outside the Rizal Park,” Chavez said.
To maintain order, the local government will deploy 14 ambulances around the area and mobilize the Department of Public Service to handle waste management and regulate ambulant vendors outside the rally grounds. The Manila Police District will also provide security along the perimeter and manage traffic flow during the three-day event.
Authorities have described the rally as a large, peaceful assembly. The INC, known for its discipline and highly organized gatherings, has emphasized that the event is not political. It aims to reinforce the group’s call for transparency, accountability, and good governance—values it says are vital to national progress.
