Jon “Bones” Jones has not been confirmed to be on any client list connected to Jeffrey Epstein, despite renewed online speculation following the release of Epstein-related documents.
Jones’ name surfaced after records released by the US Department of Justice showed that Epstein attempted in 2010 to access footage of Jones vs Brandon Vera at UFC Versus 1, a bout held on March 21, 2010, in Broomfield, Colorado. The documents show Epstein failed to obtain the fight through an on-demand service and subsequently emailed his assistant, Story Cowels, instructing her to locate the footage elsewhere and transfer it to his device.
Jones was not involved in the exchange, and no document indicates any direct contact between him and Epstein. His name appears only because the fight itself was referenced in the preserved email trail.
After the documents resurfaced online, Jones reacted publicly. Championship Rounds posted on X that Jones responded with a facepalm emoji, signaling frustration over being pulled into speculation tied to the files. The response came as social media users circulated claims suggesting his inclusion in Epstein-related records without context.
The documents do not place Jones on Epstein’s private island, nor do they link him to Epstein’s criminal network. No flight logs, correspondence, or testimony identify Jones as having any personal relationship with Epstein.
Speculation intensified following a 2023 interview in which Colby Covington told Michael Bisping, “The real question that we need to be asking him is, was honestly, was Jon Jones on the client list of Epstein Island?” Covington offered no evidence to support the claim, and no confirmation has emerged since.
Reporting tied to the document release has clarified that Jones’ name appears solely because Epstein attempted to purchase footage of one of his fights, not because of any personal connection or interaction.
The renewed attention around Epstein-linked names has also spilled into broader UFC discussions. Sean Strickland recently expressed hesitation about participating in a proposed UFC event at the White House, raising concerns during an Adin Ross stream about appearing in front of individuals whose names might be tied to Epstein-related records.
“I think I’d wanna do the White House… if there was some kind of inclusion for fans. So, if there was some kind of inclusion for fans, it’d be more … but like, just to go hang out with the f—ing Epstein list? I’m good, dog. I’m good, dude,” Strickland said.
UFC President Dana White has said the event would be limited to VIP guests due to security concerns, while Donald Trump has floated the possibility of an audience as large as 100,000.
As of now, no verified evidence places Jon Jones on any Epstein client list or confirms any personal connection beyond Epstein’s documented attempt to obtain publicly available fight footage.
