New PGMN Anchor Justine Felizarta has been named Miss Universe Philippines Manila 2026 following a bequeathal ceremony held by the Miss Universe Philippines Manila organization and Merlion Manila at the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club.
The ceremony took place on February 20 and was attended by members of the pageant media. Miss Universe Philippines Manila 2025 Jasmine Paguio formally handed over the responsibility of representing the capital city to Felizarta for the 2026 national competition.
Felizarta marked her birthday on February 24, adding a personal milestone to her return to the Miss Universe Philippines arena.
She said her pageant journey began 12 years ago when she joined the Miss Manila pageant. When invited to take another shot at the Miss Universe Philippines crown, she accepted the opportunity. She said changes in license holding and the removal of age restrictions allowed her to pursue the goal again.
This marks her fourth major pageant stint. Her credentials include Miss Manila 2014, Binibining Pilipinas 2021, Miss World Philippines 2022, and Miss Tourism World 2022, where she placed first runner-up to Japan’s Erina Hanawa.
Felizarta said pageant experience carries lessons that shape a candidate’s purpose. She cited Miss Universe 2013 third runner-up Ariella Arida as an inspiration during the 50th anniversary of Binibining Pilipinas. Her advocacy focuses on health and wellness, which she said aligns with her pharmacy business.
If she wins the Miss Universe Philippines crown, Felizarta will represent the Philippines at the Miss Universe pageant. She said her immediate goal is to bring the national crown back to Manila as she prepares for the competition.
