King Charles III has expressed deep concern and sympathy for the Philippines following a series of natural disasters that have hit the country in recent weeks. In a public message shared by the British Embassy in Manila, the monarch extended his condolences to those affected by recent typhoons, floods, and earthquakes that have claimed numerous lives and displaced thousands.
“My wife and I have been deeply concerned by the news of the typhoons and floods that have affected the Philippines in recent weeks and are profoundly saddened to hear of further loss of life. I am well aware that the suffering has been compounded by the devastating effects of two earthquakes in October and our hearts go out to all those who are so cruelly affected by these catastrophic natural disasters,” the King wrote.
He also acknowledged the courage and sacrifice of emergency workers who have been at the forefront of rescue and relief efforts. “I particularly want to convey our deepest and most heartfelt sympathy to the families of all those who have lost their loved ones and to pay a special tribute to the emergency services who have suffered their own tragic losses as they have assisted in the rescue efforts,” he said.
King Charles concluded his message with words of solidarity for the Filipino people, adding, “Our thoughts and continued prayers are with all who are enduring such appalling suffering at this time.”
The British Embassy in Manila published the message on social media earlier today, marking the royal family’s continued support for the Philippines amid recurring natural calamities.
