PGMN Anchor King Panda pushed back against criticism surrounding the recently concluded Manila International Auto Show, calling out what he described as hypocrisy within segments of the automotive media.
In a Facebook post, King Panda, an automotive personality and PGMN anchor, questioned negative commentary about the event, particularly claims that it had become overly commercial. He said auto shows are intended to drive sales and brand visibility, stressing that selling vehicles remains central to their purpose. He added that consumers now hold greater influence in the industry, saying audience demand has overtaken traditional media in shaping outcomes.
He also criticized figures he described as “self baptised behemoths of auto journalism,” disputing their position against the show’s sales-driven approach. He said, “This is the time King Panda weighs in on the HYPOCRISY OF THE INDUSTRY here in the Philippines.”
King Panda congratulated organizer Alvin Uy for the staging of the event and said a full video commentary will be released within the week to further address his position on issues within the local automotive industry.
