Bongbong Marcos led the “Tara sa Palasyo” Christmas celebration at Malacañan Palace on Friday, welcoming returning overseas Filipino workers and their families to a holiday gathering at the Palace grounds.
The President joined the attendees in activities prepared for the event, which focused on family-oriented programs, entertainment, and recognition of migrant workers. In a social media post the following day, Marcos said the Christmas season is an opportunity to express gratitude to Filipinos who continue to make sacrifices for their families and for the country, referring to overseas workers as modern-day heroes.
The celebration was held at the Kalayaan Grounds of Malacañan Palace and was attended by around 400 overseas Filipino workers and their families. It was organized by the Department of Migrant Workers in partnership with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration.
Part of the program included live performances by the top three winners of the 2025 OWWA Duets Singing Competition. A screening of the Filipino film Anak, directed by Rory Quintos and starring Vilma Santos and Claudine Barretto, was also featured as a tribute to the experiences of overseas workers and their families.
Now in its fourth year, “Tara sa Palasyo” is a Christmas program that opens the Palace grounds to the public. The event includes carnival rides for children, musical performances, film showings, and traditional Filipino Christmas food, offering visitors a festive setting during the holiday season.
