In our latest episode of PGMN, new anchor Paolo Bediones spoke openly for the first time about a personal scandal that deeply affected his life and career. He detailed how private videos stolen during a laptop repair led to years of extortion and public exposure.
Bediones explained that the stolen videos were leaked in 2014, sparking widespread public scrutiny and altering how people perceived him. “I lived with that hanging over me like a sword of Damocles,” he said. “Every morning, I carried the silent hope: please, not today.”
Initially overwhelmed by shame and confusion, Bediones shared how he turned to Stoicism, a philosophy focused on controlling one’s reactions and maintaining inner peace, to navigate the fallout.
“I didn’t find Stoicism because I was wise. I found it because I was tired of bleeding energy into things I couldn’t control,” he noted.

He stressed the importance of managing one’s response to criticism, letting go of negativity that isn’t one’s burden, and actively choosing the story one tells about oneself. “Survival was never meant to be the finish line. It was just the starting point,” he added.
Bediones also expressed gratitude to those who supported him and offered apologies to anyone affected by his past mistakes. His message centers on resilience and mental well-being amid a world where private moments can become public judgment.
