A majority of Filipinos believe elected officials disregard their views, according to the December 2025 Tugon ng Masa survey conducted by OCTA Research.
The nationwide poll found that 61% of respondents said lawmakers in Congress and officials in local government units do not value the opinions of ordinary citizens. Only 31% said they feel their views are considered, while the remaining respondents were undecided.
The survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adult Filipinos across the country from Dec. 3 to 11. Results showed that the perception of being unheard cuts across income groups and regions. Respondents from the National Capital Region were slightly more likely to say their views are ignored compared to those from other parts of the country.
Across socioeconomic classes, no group recorded a majority saying they feel fully represented by elected officials. The findings reflect broader public sentiment about responsiveness and engagement between citizens and political leaders.
The results come amid continuing public discussions on accountability and governance, as voters assess how well officials respond to everyday concerns. The survey underscores a clear message from respondents: many Filipinos want stronger evidence that elected leaders are listening.
