The Philippine National Police has raised the reward for the arrest of businessman Atong Ang to ₱20 million, doubling the previous amount as authorities step up efforts to locate him. The increase was announced by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, which appealed to the public for information that could directly lead to his capture.
Police said the reward was increased from ₱10 million to ₱20 million to encourage new leads and strengthen cooperation from the public. Authorities stressed that tips may be reported through CIDG hotlines and that all information will be handled with strict confidentiality. The reward will be given to anyone who provides verified information that results in Ang’s arrest.
A wanted notice circulated by authorities identifies Ang as Charlie Tiu Hay Ang, also known as “Boss AA.” The notice lists allegations linking him to multiple cases of kidnapping with homicide and kidnapping and serious illegal detention involving missing sabungeros. He is also identified in the notice as the most wanted person under the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
The same notice outlines possible areas where Ang may be hiding, including parts of Pasig, Mandaluyong, Rizal, Laguna, Batangas, Quezon, and Zambales. Police provided hotline numbers for both Smart and Globe subscribers for individuals who may have information regarding his whereabouts.
Authorities emphasized that informants will not be questioned and that their identities will remain protected. They also noted that specific conditions apply to claiming the reward, including the presentation of the SIM card used to relay information to the CIDG.
The announcement was made public to widen awareness and increase public participation as police continue efforts to locate Ang and move forward with cases linked to the disappearance of the missing sabungeros.
