Several members of the Senate majority appeared together publicly this week as speculation circulated about a possible leadership change in the chamber.
Senator Kiko Pangilinan posted a group selfie taken during a gathering with fellow senators, showing senior lawmakers seated together around a long table. Pangilinan shared the image on social media with the caption “#PowerSharing”, without any additional comment.
The post surfaced amid reports that Senator Loren Legarda had been floated as a possible replacement for Senate President Vicente Tito Sotto. No senator in the photo issued a statement confirming or disputing the reports.
No formal announcement has been made by the Senate regarding any change in leadership, and no motion seeking to replace the Senate president has been filed. At the time the photo was taken, Sotto remained the sitting Senate president.
Legarda continues to serve in her current post and committee assignments, while Pangilinan and the other senators in the image have maintained their respective leadership and legislative roles. Beyond the hashtag, Pangilinan did not offer any explanation for the gathering.
The appearance of multiple Senate leaders in one setting comes as the chamber prepares for upcoming legislative work, with coordination among majority members remaining visible despite ongoing political discussion outside the Senate floor.
