Radio broadcaster Ramon Tulfo posted a statement on Facebook criticizing Sara Duterte and naming several women leaders he said he admires.
In his post, Tulfo cited former world leaders Margaret Thatcher, Golda Meir, and Indira Gandhi. He also listed Filipino figures Letty Jimenez-Magsanoc, Amy Pamintuan, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, Lilia “Baby” Pineda, Teresita Sy-Coson, and Leni Robredo.
Tulfo wrote that the women he named “embody great leadership” and are “highly intelligent.” He described Duterte as an exception and called her “inarticulate, irresponsible, a thief and psycho.” He added, “If she gets elected president God bless the Philippines!”
Tulfo said he made the post to address accusations that he is a misogynist and male chauvinist. He stated that his admiration for the women he cited contradicts those claims.
