Senator Robin Padilla leads all potential contenders in second-choice voter preference for the 2028 vice presidency, according to the latest nationwide survey conducted by Tangere.
While the main ballot test shows Senator Bong Go at 27%, Senator Bam Aquino at 21%, Senator Raffy Tulfo at 13%, and Padilla at 10%, the second-choice data reveal a different layer of voter positioning. Among respondents who selected Go as their first choice for vice president, 44% identified Padilla as their preferred alternative. This gives Padilla the highest consolidation of second-choice support in the field.
The data suggest that Padilla could benefit significantly in the event of a realignment in the race. With nearly half of Go’s supporters naming him as their second option, any withdrawal or shift involving the current frontrunner could substantially boost Padilla’s standing based on existing voter preferences.
The findings also indicate that nearly one-third of the electorate remains either undecided or dispersed among other potential candidates who currently register single-digit support, leaving room for further movement as the 2028 campaign cycle develops.
Despite his placement in the survey, Padilla has shown no indication that he intends to seek the vice presidency in 2028. He has previously stated that he would not run for the second-highest position in the country.
The non-commissioned survey was conducted from February 19 to 20, 2026 through a mobile-based respondent application with 1,200 participants nationwide. It employed a stratified random sampling method and carries a ±2.77% margin of error at a 95% confidence level.
