Bong Go has rejected allegations that identify him as an alleged co-perpetrator in a redacted document issued by the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court on February 13, 2026, saying the claims are “entirely unfounded, one-sided, unfair” and disconnected from the reality of his public service.
In a statement dated February 14, 2026, Go said he was only recently made aware of the allegations referenced in the ICC document. He said his name was identified in the redacted version of the Document Containing the Charges, a development he immediately disputed.
“I dispute these allegations which are entirely unfounded, one-sided, unfair and bear no relation to the reality of my roles and responsibilities,” Go said, pointing to his years in government service.
He cited his time as Special Assistant to the President from June 2016 to October 2018, as well as his earlier service as Executive Assistant to the Mayor of Davao City from 1998 to 2016. Go said that during those periods, he had no involvement in, knowledge of, or authority over the matters referenced in the allegations.
“Let me be clear, at no time did I have any involvement in, knowledge of, or authority over these allegations,” he said.
Go also addressed claims about his former position in government, saying it was inaccurate to state that he served as Chief of the Presidential Management Staff. He said that responsibility never fell under him at any point.
Speaking partly in Filipino, Go said his countrymen know that he carried out his duties in accordance with the law and his faith, with the goal of helping fellow Filipinos, especially those who are poor and have no one else to turn to but the government.
“I will not allow these baseless accusations to distract me from my responsibilities as a duly elected Senator of the Republic,” Go said. He added that his focus remains on serving the Filipino people, “particularly the poor and vulnerable.”
He ended his statement by reaffirming his commitment to continue working with sincerity and compassion, guided by his belief that service to the people is service to God.
