Thai police in Suphan Buri province have gained attention online by using AI-generated images to turn crime updates into creative hits. Officers from the Sam Chuk Police Station posted on social media, featuring themselves as popular One Piece and Disney princess characters. The images were shared after arrests were made, with one post humorously depicting officers as Disney princesses, while another showed them as members of the One Piece Straw Hat Pirates.
The posts reported arrests related to theft, drug use, and driving under the influence, which were followed by playful, pop-culture-themed visuals. These updates quickly went viral, garnering tens of thousands of reactions and shares on the police station’s Facebook page. One post featuring Disney princesses had 18,000 likes and 3,200 shares, while another featuring One Piece characters received 48,000 likes and 15,000 shares.
Sam Chuk Police Chief Pol. Col. Kietchai Koetcho stated that the idea came from the investigation unit as a way to make police communications more engaging for the public. The animated costumes were added after the arrests using AI, and during actual operations, officers wear their standard uniforms to maintain professionalism.
Despite the creative spin, the police emphasized their commitment to safety and law enforcement in the community.
