British Police opened an investigation on Former Cabinet Minister Peter Mandelson following the release of Epstein files linking the former senior official to the late financier.
The Metropolitan Police said the reports are under review to determine whether the documents fall on the legal threshold for a full investigation under misconduct laws. Mandelson resigned from the House of Lords following the announcement.
In Washington, President Donald Trump urged the public to move on from the latest release of the Epstein files, adding that the subject should no longer be under the public’s attention.
“Nothing came out about me other than it was a conspiracy against me, literally, by Epstein and other people.” Trump stated, further noting that it’s time for the country to divert attention to, “something else like health care or something that people care about.”
The U.S. President told the public to turn their focus back to the Clintons. It was “not a Republican, it’s a Democrat problem”, Trump said.
Former President Bill Clinton, and Hillary Clinton, are set to testify before the US House for the congressional proceedings on February 26 and 27.
While Mandelson has not been charged, investigation remains ongoing.
