Former U.S. Navy SEAL officer and Texas Representative in Congress Dan Crenshaw commended President Donald Trump in a post on X, praising his latest peace efforts between Israel and Hamas. Crenshaw wrote that Trump “deserves serious recognition” for what he called an “impossible” diplomatic accomplishment, referencing both the Abraham Accords from Trump’s first term and the newly announced peace plan in his second.
Crenshaw added that if Trump does not receive the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts, “no one deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.”
The praise came shortly after Trump announced that Israel and Hamas had agreed to the first phase of his administration’s new peace plan.
According to Trump’s post, the agreement includes the release of all hostages and the withdrawal of Israeli troops to an agreed-upon boundary. He described it as the beginning of a “strong, durable, and everlasting peace,” thanking mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey for their role in facilitating the deal.
Trump said the development marked a “great day for the Arab and Muslim world, Israel, all surrounding nations, and the United States of America,” emphasizing that all parties would be treated fairly.
The announcement drew global attention as one of the most significant diplomatic moves of Trump’s second term. If fully implemented, it could represent the first major step toward ending years of violent conflict between Israel and Hamas—an achievement that some, like Crenshaw, argue would merit international recognition.
