Ako Ilocano Ako Party-List has officially secured its place in the 20th Congress, with Representative Richelle Singson at the helm.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) proclaimed the party-list among the winners of the 2025 midterm elections marking a significant moment for the group known for championing Ilocano welfare and transport sector reforms.

Singson, daughter of former Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson, expressed gratitude to supporters in a heartfelt statement. “We’re officially proclaimed this week as part of the incoming Congress,” she announced, thanking volunteers, coordinators, and Filipinos who backed the party’s advocacy.

The proclamation, held at 3 p.m. on May 19, followed a competitive party-list race, with Ako Ilocano Ako standing out for its focus on regional development and economic programs.

The party-list has been vocal about supporting the transport sector, particularly through initiatives tied to the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP). Singson has pledged to push for subsidies and sustainable livelihood programs for transport workers, building on the group’s recent efforts.

Over 300 transport group representatives endorsed Ako Ilocano Ako, citing its commitment to addressing drivers’ and operators’ challenges.

Beyond transport, the party-list advocates for Ilocano communities while extending its reach nationwide. Its recent involvement in the opening of the Philippines’ first e-jeepney assembly plant in Lima, Batangas underscores its focus on eco-friendly transport solutions.

Singson joined her father and officials from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and Department of Transportation (DOTr) at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, highlighting the party’s role in modernizing public transport.

For Singson, the victory is a call to action. “I’m driven by the goal of becoming a public servant who can positively impact Filipinos’ lives,” she said, emphasizing collaboration with supporters to achieve this vision.

As the 20th Congress approaches, Ako Ilocano Ako is poised to amplify its advocacy, blending regional pride with national impact.
