Mysterious drones have been spotted flying over New Jersey at night, and people are starting to ask: What are they looking for?
According to John Ferguson, CEO of Saxon Aerospace, drones don’t just wander around at night for no reason—unless it’s serious.
Why Are Drones Out After Dark?
Ferguson explains that drones are mostly used during the day for mapping or regular surveillance. But at night? That’s when things get interesting. To operate in the dark, drones need thermal optics or specialized tools to detect specific things—like people, objects, or even gases. Ferguson speculates that these drones might be “sniffing the ground” for something important, adding fuel to the fire of conspiracy theories.
To make things even weirder, Ferguson brought up nuclear warheads “gone missing” in Ukraine back in the 1980s. Is it far-fetched? Maybe. But his comments are leaving people with more questions than answers.
Government Steps In
Authorities aren’t sitting this one out. New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced the rollout of high-tech drone detection systems to monitor the skies, while Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas reassured the public that they’re keeping an eye on things.
But here’s the thing—whether these drones are harmless tech tests or something more sinister, one fact remains: nobody really knows what they’re looking for.
