President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. led the formal launch of the World Bank Group’s Country Partnership Framework (CPF) for the Philippines during a ceremony at Malacañang on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.
The CPF establishes the World Bank’s strategic support for the country’s development priorities from 2026 to 2031.
The framework focuses on improving access to quality healthcare and education, creating more and better jobs through private‑sector growth, accelerating the government’s digital transformation, and strengthening disaster resilience and climate preparedness.
President Marcos said the CPF’s objectives are closely aligned with the administration’s long-term agenda to promote safer, more inclusive communities.
World Bank officials emphasized that the CPF builds on the institution’s decades-long partnership with the Philippines.
It is designed to close critical service gaps, promote economic competitiveness, and reduce poverty across the country.
The launch of the CPF reflects the government’s commitment to leveraging international partnerships to achieve sustainable, broad-based growth and to position the Philippines for long-term economic stability.
