Vice President Sara Duterte took aim at former Sen. Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV over his new allegations of financial irregularities during his testimony in the impeachment proceedings against her. She reiterated that all her assets, liabilities and financial interests are properly declared in her Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth.
She said her disclosures comply with legal requirements and reflect her officially filed records under government rules governing public officials’ financial declarations, which require regular submission and full disclosure of declared properties and interests.
Trillanes alleged that former President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Sara Duterte received billions from Samuel Uy, which he said was confirmed by the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC). The vice president pushed back against the claims, pointing to legal safeguards governing bank account information in the Philippines, which protect financial records under strict confidentiality rules and require proper legal authority and judicial process before any access or examination.
Duterte said she stands by the completeness and accuracy of her SALN filings, emphasizing that her declared properties and financial interests are properly accounted for through official submission channels required for public officials. She maintained that her records are consistent with what is mandated under law for public disclosure and transparency in government service, and that these have been consistently filed in accordance with established procedures.
She said she continues to rely on official processes and filings as the basis for her declarations, maintaining that her submitted documents reflect compliance with required disclosure standards. “Lahat ng aking ari-arian at pera ay idineklara ko sa aking SALN,” she said.
In the same statement, she reiterated her position against repeated allegations and referenced issues she said are more urgent to the public, including inflation, rising food prices, peace and order, governance in Mindanao and broader national policy concerns.
