Filipino HYROX athlete Gabriel Rosario won the Full Hybrid category at the GRIT Hybrid Series held on August 29, 2026, at The Tent at Azuela Cove in Lanang, Davao City.
Rosario completed the event with a time of 1:04:43, securing the division title in a competition that combined endurance running with functional fitness challenges.
The GRIT Hybrid Series featured a race format where athletes were tested through repeated running segments and workout stations designed to measure speed, strength, stamina, and recovery. The event brought together competitors from the growing hybrid fitness community in the Philippines.
Following his victory, Rosario thanked Davao for welcoming him and recognized the young athletes who participated in the competition.
“Daghang salamat davao for having me. Amazing event and amazing people,” Rosario wrote.
“Saw the fast growing talent specially the young boys and girls of davao. Cant wait wait to see them be the best on the months to come!”
Rosario’s Davao win adds to his growing achievements in hybrid fitness. Mensa Pro Management previously announced his signing and introduced him as the “fastest Filipino HYROX athlete,” highlighting his accomplishments in HYROX competitions, endurance sports, and strength and conditioning.
HYROX is a standardized hybrid fitness race where competitors complete one kilometer of running followed by one functional workout station, repeated across eight rounds. The format requires athletes to maintain endurance while completing strength-based movements under race conditions.
Rosario has competed in international HYROX events across Asia, including races in Singapore, Bangkok, Osaka, Shanghai, Yokohama, and Taipei. He is also an IRONMAN All World Athlete Gold honoree and previously set a Philippine HYROX doubles record with Nico Bolzico after finishing a Singapore race in 58:07.
His latest victory in Davao further highlights the growing presence of hybrid racing in the Philippines and the emergence of local athletes entering the sport.
