PGMN launched an informal social media poll last Saturday, September 19, asking netizens who they would choose as Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo’s running mate if she decides to run for president in 2028.
The poll featured eight possible running mates: Sens. Kiko Pangilinan, Risa Hontiveros, Bam Aquino, Raffy Tulfo and Erwin Tulfo, Reps. Chel Diokno and Leila de Lima, and Defense Secretary Gilbert ‘Gibo’ Teodoro, Jr.
The post generated a total of 1,752 comments within the 48-hour survey period. After the responses were processed, 262 recognized single-name votes were recorded for the eight choices.
Of those votes, Hontiveros received the largest share at 26.0%, narrowly ahead of Teodoro at 25.2%.
De Lima followed with 14.5%, while Aquino received 11.8%, Diokno 9.9%, and Pangilinan 7.3%. Raffy Tulfo and Erwin Tulfo each received 2.7% of the recognized votes.
The remaining comments included responses that did not register as a selection for one of the eight listed choices, comments mentioning more than one candidate, and entries filtered by the survey system.
PGMN also conducted a separate informal survey on the preferred running mate for Sara Duterte, which drew a total of 5,752 comments. The eight choices in that survey received a combined 3,563 recognized single-name votes.
Of those votes, Rodante Marcoleta received the largest share at 31.5%, while, in a surprising result, Atty. Jimmy Bondoc came in a close second at 30.7%, despite having no plans to run for vice president.
Alan Peter Cayetano followed with 22.0%, while Bong Go received 5.9%, Robin Padilla 5.5%, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo 1.9%, and Imee Marcos and Loren Legarda 1.2% each.
Both surveys served as informal temperature checks of PGMN’s social media audience based on the comments received.
