Four young patients from Manila have successfully undergone liver transplant surgeries in India through Mayor Isko Moreno Kaagapay Program, giving the children a renewed chance at life after battling serious medical conditions.
The procedures and related medical treatments were supported through financial assistance from the Manila City Government, which helped the families shoulder the high cost of the life-saving operations.
Parents of the beneficiaries personally thanked Domagoso for the assistance, saying the city’s support made it possible for their children to receive the urgent treatment they needed abroad.
Domagoso said the local government will continue to prioritize programs that directly protect lives, especially when children are involved. He stressed that the city will not hesitate to use public funds for medical assistance if it means saving or extending the lives of vulnerable residents.
The mayor also reminded the families to remain grateful not only to God, but also to Manila taxpayers, whose trust and contributions allow the city government to fund programs such as Kaagapay.
He said the program reflects the city’s effort to return public funds to residents through services with direct and life-changing impact.
The Kaagapay Program is one of the Manila City Government’s key social service initiatives, providing financial and medical assistance to residents in need, particularly those facing serious health conditions that require immediate intervention.
