Kangkong Chips Original founder Josh Mojica has been linked to a reported ₱76-million deal to acquire world champion esports team Blacklist International from its parent company, Tier One Entertainment, potentially paving the way for the organization’s return to professional Mobile Legends.
The reported transaction involves APBREN’s franchise slot in the Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) Philippines, which could open the door for Blacklist’s revival under new ownership.
Blacklist cemented its place in Philippine esports history after defeating fellow Filipino squad ONIC Philippines to win the M3 World Championship in 2021. The team also secured three MPL Philippines championships in Seasons 7, 8 and 10.
Its championship run was powered by the celebrated VeeWise duo of OhMyV33NUS and Wise, alongside OHEB, Edward and Hadji, under head coach BON CHAN. Blacklist later reached the M4 World Championship finals before finishing third at M5.
In January 2025, Tier One transferred ownership of Blacklist’s MPL franchise slot to another organization as it shifted its focus toward business ventures outside esports. Despite the move, Tier One co-founder Tryke Gutierrez said the team remained open to returning to the league.
Abante Sports Now reported on Nov. 4 that Mojica had allegedly acquired APBREN’s franchise slot for $1.2 million, or approximately ₱76 million. The report also floated the possibility of Edward rejoining the roster alongside APBREN jungler JamesPangks, with BON CHAN potentially returning as head coach.
Speculation surrounding the reported comeback has also raised the possibility of a VeeWise reunion, although no player signings or coaching appointments have been officially confirmed.
