American reality television star and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian brought her birthday celebrations to the Philippines, sharing photos of a beach getaway at Amanpulo in Palawan ahead of her Oct. 21 birthday.
“Philippines Birthday Adventures,” Kardashian captioned her Instagram carousel.
The photos showed her scuba diving, enjoying the beach and taking a boat ride in a red bikini. The celebration continued with an outdoor dinner and fireworks, while another photo captured her blowing out a single candle on her birthday cake.
Kardashian later discussed the vacation during an interview about her series All’s Fair, confirming that she had already returned from the country.
“I just got back from the Philippines! I celebrated my birthday there!” she said.
The country’s sunset left a particularly strong impression on her. Her Instagram post included a pink sunset along the shoreline, which she also enthusiastically recalled during the interview.
“I saw one of the best sunsets ever, it was so colorful!” she said.
Anne Curtis, Ruffa Gutierrez, KC Concepcion and Isabelle Daza were among the Filipino celebrities who left messages in the comments section. Curtis wrote “Welcome,” while Concepcion told Kardashian to “Have fun.”
The getaway’s setting, Amanpulo, occupies Pamalican Island in northern Palawan’s Cuyo Archipelago. Surrounded by white sand beaches and coral reefs, the resort offers secluded casitas and villas and has its own airstrip.
Kardashian rose to national prominence in the mid-2000s, first as a socialite and stylist in Los Angeles and then as a central figure on the reality series “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” which ran for 20 seasons.
The show turned her family into one of the most recognizable brands in American entertainment and made Kardashian a fixture of tabloid and social media culture. She became one of the most followed people on Instagram, building a platform that helped redefine how celebrities market themselves directly to consumers.
Forbes has listed Kardashian among the world’s wealthiest self-made women. More recently, she has expanded into acting and producing, with roles in the television series “American Horror Story” and “All’s Fair.”
