President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. welcomed the opening of the Pampanga Provincial Hospital-Clark, describing the new facility as a major step toward bringing modern healthcare closer to families in Central Luzon.
Marcos inspected the newly completed hospital on May 14 at Clark Global City, where the three-story government facility is expected to serve Pampanga residents, workers, business locators and investors inside the Clark Freeport Zone. The Presidential Communications Office said the hospital could also support more than 151,500 workers and stakeholders in the area while generating around 400 jobs once fully operational. “No Filipino should have to travel far or worry about money just to get proper healthcare,” Marcos said in a Facebook post. “We finally opened the Pampanga Provincial Hospital-Clark, bringing modern healthcare and Zero Balance Billing closer to Kapampangans and families across Central Luzon.”
The hospital has 143 beds, including 110 ward beds, 17 private rooms and 16 semi-private rooms. It is equipped with X-ray machines, CT scan units, endoscopy systems, mammogram equipment and other diagnostic tools intended to expand public access to more advanced healthcare in the province.
The facility also provides clinical services in obstetrics and gynecology, intensive care, neonatal intensive care, radiology, laboratory, pulmonary, cardiovascular, dental and dietary care. During the visit, Marcos toured the operating room and intensive care units and received a briefing from PPHC surgeon Dr. Filfernan Malto.
The hospital also has a pending application for accreditation under PhilHealth’s Yaman ng Kalusugan Program, which aims to expand access to primary healthcare services. Once fully operational and accredited, the Clark hospital could become a major public healthcare hub for Pampanga and nearby areas, helping reduce the need for patients to travel farther for treatment.
