Former Miss Earth 2004 Priscilla Meirelles, who built a career as an actress, television personality, and host, is adding another chapter to her professional journey after formally taking on the role of brand manager for Feta Mediterranean, a restaurant and online grocery business that has been operating in the country since 2014.
Speaking during the launch of the company’s newest branch at Newport World Resorts in Pasay City, Meirelles said the role gives her an opportunity to draw on experience she developed years before becoming known to Filipinos through pageantry and entertainment.
“There are a lot of talents hidden that I brought from back home. My family is very business-oriented. We have different businesses in Brazil.”
Meirelles said she had already been helping the family behind Feta before accepting the position officially. She added that the arrangement allows her to continue balancing acting projects, her podcast, vlogs, and other commitments while taking part in the company’s operations.
She said her background includes business management, events management, and work with several family businesses in Brazil. She also previously served as a director for national pageant organizations in both Brazil and the Philippines, experience she said she now brings into her latest role.
“When I came to the Philippines, I came with a sash and immediately I was labeled a beauty queen. There’s nothing wrong with that.”
Meirelles said the appointment allows her to introduce another side of her professional life that has largely remained outside the public eye.
“There is this side of me, the business side, the events management side that I’ve done for so many years in Brazil.”
She also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to return to business while continuing her work in entertainment.
“I’m very grateful, first, for the trust given to me by Feta family.”
Feta currently operates branches in Newport World Resorts, Rockwell, Bonifacio Global City, Greenhills, and Makati. Meirelles said the company plans to expand to 10 branches, including future locations in Cebu and other provinces.
