Award-winning Filipino pop powerhouse BINI_ph has been submitted for GRAMMYS consideration in three categories, potentially marking another major international milestone for the eight-member group as Philippine music gains greater recognition on the global stage.
Star Music announced BINI’s submissions on Oct. 12 for Best New Artist, “Unang Kilig” for Best Asian Pop Music Performance, and “A Parallel World” for Best Song Written for Visual Media at the 69th Grammy Awards.
The submissions also highlight the groundbreaking DreamWorks Animation film *Forgotten Island*, a major Hollywood animated production celebrating Filipino culture, folklore and mythology. BINI’s “A Parallel World” is featured on the film’s soundtrack alongside music from prominent international and Filipino artists. The film features an accomplished voice cast led by Grammy-winning singer H.E.R. and Filipina actress Liza Soberano, alongside Lea Salonga, Manny Jacinto and Dolly de Leon.
Written and produced by Nathan Matthew David and Shawn Wasabi, “A Parallel World” marks another international collaboration for BINI. The Grammy category recognizes the song’s credited writers, with BINI serving as the performing artist.
Meanwhile, “Unang Kilig” has been submitted for consideration in the inaugural Best Asian Pop Music Performance category, introduced by the Recording Academy in June 2026. The category recognizes Asian pop recordings and offers a new opportunity for Filipino music to gain recognition alongside other major Asian pop releases.
The Grammy campaign follows a landmark year for the celebrated P-pop group, which made history as the first Filipino group to perform at Coachella in April and received the Global Force Award at Billboard Women in Music 2026.
The first round of Grammy voting runs from Oct. 12 to 22, with official nominations scheduled for Nov. 16. The submissions put BINI in contention for recognition at the 69th Grammy Awards, scheduled for Feb. 7, 2027, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
