Aira Brigola proved that a disability could not stop her from reaching her dream after successfully passing the Psychometrician Licensure Examination and becoming a registered professional.
Brigola, a graduate of Our Lady of Fatima University Antipolo, was recognized as one of the new licensed psychometricians after overcoming challenges throughout her academic journey. She is blind, but continued pursuing her Psychology degree despite facing barriers along the way.
According to a post by RGO Psychology Review Center, Brigola was previously not accepted by several schools before finding an opportunity at OLFU Antipolo, where she was able to continue her studies. She later prepared for the board examination through review sessions with RGO.
During the licensure examination, Brigola received assistance from the Professional Regulation Commission staff, who dictated the exam questions and choices before her answers were shaded on the answer sheet.
Her achievement was celebrated by her school and the psychology community, with RGO Psychology Review Center describing her journey as a testament to perseverance, commitment and hard work.
“Despite the trials, challenges and difficulties, you were not disheartened and with grit, perseverance, commitment and hardwork, nothing is impossible. Rather, I am Possible,” the review center wrote in its congratulatory message.
Brigola’s journey from a student facing limitations to a licensed professional highlights the importance of accessibility and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities pursuing their chosen careers.
