Diddy was rushed by ambulance from a federal prison in New Jersey after sustaining a head injury, renewing attention to the music mogul’s health and his treatment while incarcerated.
Combs, 56, was taken from the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix at around 1 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, TMZ reported. According to the report, he returned to the facility hours later while conscious and able to speak.
The incident comes as Combs’ imprisonment faces increased scrutiny, including disciplinary measures following a July altercation with another inmate. Prison officials also reportedly found violations involving prohibited amenities within the facility.
Questions about his prison conditions had previously emerged after four men who were housed in his unit told NBC News that he received preferential treatment. They alleged that other inmates prepared his meals and cleaned for him while he received massages. Their accounts also included claims that he had access to a prohibited cellphone and liquor, with one former inmate alleging that he drank Hennessy with Combs.
The men also claimed that Combs spent thousands of dollars to obtain more favorable living conditions in prison.
In response to the reports, Combs’ spokesperson criticized the media attention surrounding his incarceration.
“The continued scrutiny of every mundane detail of Sean Combs’ life in prison has reached the point where the media characterizes ordinary prison life as news,” the spokesperson said.
“The only real news is that Sean continues to serve his sentence while awaiting the court’s decision on his appeal.”
The Federal Bureau of Prisons declined to discuss Combs’ specific conditions but acknowledged that contraband, including cellphones, narcotics and weapons, continues to pose a persistent challenge in correctional facilities.
Combs is serving a 50-month federal prison sentence after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. His projected release date has since shifted from January to March 2028 as he awaits a court decision on his appeal.
