Entalula Beach has been named the best beach in the world in a list by world50beaches.com, based on votes from a panel of international travelers.
Located off the coast of El Nido, Entalula Beach drew attention for its secluded setting, towering limestone cliffs and calm waters that provide a quieter coastal experience.
Reaching Entalula Beach requires travel from Puerto Princesa followed by a boat ride. Also making the rankings is Kalanggaman Island at No. 25, known for its long white sandbar stretching into open waters and offering sweeping ocean views.
The two destinations are now regarded as “jewel beaches.” The Department of Tourism is now working to guide the development of these destinations following their global recognition. Officials are focusing on controlled growth to preserve the natural features that earned them their global standing.
The rankings were based on nominations from travel professionals and assessed according to landscape, water clarity and overall visitor experience.
“Our goal is not only to welcome more visitors, but to make sure that every visit respects the island, supports the local community, and helps preserve its beauty for future generations,” said Karina Rosa Tiopes, Eastern Visayas regional tourism director, on balancing tourism growth with environmental protection.
Earlier recognitions, including Lagen Island’s global ranking in 2013, led to a surge in tourism activity in Palawan. Officials see the latest rankings as a chance to build on that momentum while maintaining long-term sustainability across destinations.
