OPM icon Gary Valenciano is set to return to the Music Museum in San Juan for a 10-show October run, continuing one of Philippine live music’s longest artist-venue partnerships as he moves from large-scale arena productions to more intimate performances.
“Back At The Museum” will run every Thursday and Saturday in October, with shows starting at 8 p.m. The residency marks Valenciano’s return to a venue where he has performed more than 100 times throughout his four-decade career.
The series revives the concept he brought back in 2023, when “Back At The Museum” culminated in his 100th solo performance at the Greenhills venue on November 3, making him the first artist reported to reach the milestone there. The shows were later extended after the initial dates sold out.
The comeback follows Valenciano’s 2024 “Pure Energy: One Last Time” arena series, which signaled his shift away from large-scale solo concerts. He later clarified that he was not retiring from performing, but intended to concentrate more on smaller shows and more personal audience interactions.
“I’d like more intimate shows now,” Valenciano said,
while remaining open to guest appearances and other performances at larger venues.
The Music Museum has provided that intimate setting for much of Valenciano’s career. He has staged numerous productions there, including “Sights and Sounds of Gary V,” “A Decade of Gary V,” “Gary V By Request,” “Soul In Motion” and “On Higher Ground.”
The 2026 shows will be directed by Paolo Valenciano, with Mon Faustino serving as musical director. Singer-songwriter Kakie will appear as a special guest. The run will also mark the 40th anniversary of Manila Genesis Entertainment and Management Inc. and support the Shining Light Foundation.

More than two years after moving away from his biggest solo arena productions, Valenciano continues to perform, this time on a smaller scale. His return adds 10 more shows to a Music Museum legacy that has already surpassed 100 performances.
