Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso announced the release of ₱350 million for the mid-year bonus of nearly 20,000 regular employees of the Manila City government, assuring city hall workers that the benefit due to them would be released without the need for appeals.
Domagoso made the announcement during the city’s weekly flag-raising ceremony on Monday, May 18, and said qualified employees could begin claiming their bonuses starting 12 noon on the same day.
“To our City Government employees: what is due to you will be given to you. Hindi na ninyo kailangan ipanghingi,” Domagoso said.
The mayor said the release was made in recognition of the service, dedication, and daily work of Manila’s public servants, many of whom help keep frontline and basic city services running for residents.
He also reminded employees that the benefit comes with a responsibility to serve the public with efficiency, order, and compassion, regardless of a person’s status in life.
“Kapalit nawa ng benepisyong ito na inyong tatanggapin ay ang episyente, maayos at makataong serbisyo sa ating mga kliyente, anuman ang kinatatayuan nila sa buhay,” Domagoso said.
Domagoso urged the city workforce to treat residents with care as they carry out their duties as public servants.
“Pagmalasakitan natin ang ating kapwa bilang mga lingkod-bayan,” he added.
